My Beautiful Mess

Living through burnout and rediscovering me

by Peta Sitcheff

Inspiring sales professionals to be courageous & boldly growing businesses is what I do.

An advocate for professional practice that is sustainable, minimises burnout & improves performance, is who I am. I didn’t used to be this way. Life used to be very different.

Like all of us, I have a back story. Years ago, I worked profusely in the medical device industry, lived reactively & was not in control of my own time. I suffered acute burn out, with no choice but to press pause on life & learn to understand my mental health.

I have chosen to share my mess in the hope it will prevent others & their families, from suffering the same turmoil. My Beautiful Mess is that story.

From me to you

In early 2020 I picked up a pen & started writing.

As the memories poured onto the page, I had an inkling there was a work well-being story to be told. One that others, like you, might benefit from hearing.

Never in a million years did I think I would produce a book!

My Beautiful Mess is a culmination of professional stories. Each teaching me valuable lessons that have shaped the way I lead my life today.

Learning to read again was one of those lessons. For years, I couldn’t read a page.

Burnout had robbed me of the ability to concentrate.

I started with 1 page, then 10, then a chapter. Retraining my brain one non-fiction book at a time. Soon, I was flying through one book a week.

A mental fitness practice I still follow today.

When I started I found myself drawn to the words on each page, marvelled by the connection and inspired by their meaning.  What struck me most, was the overwhelming sense of not being alone.  Someone out there felt the same as me. It was a powerful revelation following an extended time of profound aloneness.

That is the gift I sincerely hope my story offers you.

Words that draw you to the pages, snippets of memories that stir your emotions and lessons that inspire you to find courage to overcome your deepest fears.

For supporting my journey, simply - thank you.
